For that to happen, you have to be very mindful of who you invite and with whom you are sitting them. Sitting charts are a useful tool for that exactly, accommodating everyone in a way that's comfortable, makes sense, and avoids scandal. That's why it was so baffling to me to see that this bride complained that her sister advised her to change the chart, even though the bride had sat together a bunch of people who don't get along. That, girl, is a recipe for disaster.

If there's something I've learned, not just from helping my friends to plan their wedding, but from life in general, is that people will take advantage of every opportunity they have to misbehave. She thinks that they will keep it civil for her sake. I'm sorry to break it to this bride, but they won't. If they truly have issues with each other, they will continue to have issues at her wedding and potentially ruin her special day.
It's true that the bride and groom have the right to decide to do things their way, but listening to advice from people with an outside perspective can also be beneficial, especially when they are trying to help you plan everything and want it to be as perfect as you want it.

At this point, the bride is being stubborn and getting close to Bridezilla territory. Repeat after me: just because you don't like a piece of advice doesn't mean that it's bad advice. Her sister is trying to save her wedding, not destroy it. She sees potential drama being cooked up, and she's warning the bride so she can avoid it or prepare beforehand for it. Insisting on doing things your way when there's a possibly better one just because 'it’s your wedding' is simply childish.

Now, maybe it's a bit of an exaggeration that the sister says she's being ‘embarrassed,’ so we'll give that one to the bride. But then again, her justification keeps being ‘It’s my wedding' and ‘they will behave for me.’ Newsflash: they won't. And then her sister will have free rein to say, ‘I told you so.’ Besides, other than the possible drama, she's setting her guests up to have a bad time at a party. What kind of host wants that? Let's just hope she realizes that she's potentially ruining her own celebration and changes the seating charts before it's too late.
